Many people want support for concerns such as blood sugar, energy, digestion, or other aspects of their health, but they’re afraid the advice will lead them back to restriction, food rules, or shame about their body.
I provide individualized, weight-neutral naturopathic care that considers both physical health and a person’s relationship with food and their body. Together, we look at the whole picture – including their health history, symptoms, medications, and relevant lab work – and choose realistic forms of support that fit their needs, values and capacity. From there, we may explore food, movement, sleep, stress, or targeted supplements when appropriate. When a patient is working with a dietitian, therapist, physician, or other healthcare provider, I value collaborative care so that our recommendations feel connected rather than competing.
My goal is to help patients care for their health in a way that feels informed, sustainable, and emotionally safer, without making body control the price of feeling well.
Adults (19+)
My work is shaped by my own eating disorder recovery and by generations of women in my family who looked to their bodies as the source of happiness, confidence, and self-worth. I want something different for the children growing up after us. Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size have deeply influenced how I approach this work, and more than 20 years of caring for patients has reinforced the need for healthcare that does not create shame or fear around food and the body.
What excites me most about joining The Balanced Practice is the opportunity to support patients with active eating disorders within the kind of multidisciplinary team I believe this work requires. I can contribute naturopathic care, including ordering and interpreting appropriate lab work, particularly for patients who do not have access to primary care or an eating disorder-informed primary care provider. I am excited to be part of a team where each practitioner contributes their expertise and patients receive more connected care.
Kerri has been in practice as a naturopathic doctor in Ontario since 2004, supporting patients with a wide range of concerns, including blood sugar and metabolic health, digestive symptoms, fatigue, and stress. Over the course of her career, she began to see the harm that weight-focused recommendations and restrictive plans could cause. This led her to reshape her practice around weight-neutral care, become a Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor in 2018, and pursue additional training in eating disorders and body image. Today, she brings this perspective to both her direct work with patients and her collaboration with their broader healthcare teams.
