Sometimes clients come into therapy feeling exhausted by the constant battle with food, body image, trauma, or overwhelming emotions. They may feel disconnected from themselves, stuck in painful patterns, or unsure whether healing is truly possible. Many carry deep shame, self-criticism, and the belief that they need to “have it all together” before reaching out for support.
I strive to create a therapeutic space where clients feel genuinely safe, understood, and accepted exactly as they are. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and deeply collaborative. I believe healing happens when we gently explore not only symptoms, but also the underlying emotional experiences, attachment wounds, and survival strategies beneath them.
Individuals, Teens, and Adults.
As someone who has been in recovery myself for many years after a 15-year struggle with mental health and eating disorder challenges, I bring both lived experience and professional understanding into this work. My recovery journey has deeply shaped the way I hold space for clients with compassion, authenticity, and hope.
As a Lebanese-Canadian therapist, my cultural background and lived experiences continue to influence my understanding of identity, belonging, trauma, and healing.
What excites me most about working at The Balanced Practice is the opportunity to be part of a collaborative and compassionate team that values depth, individualized care, and holistic healing. I deeply value the supportive environment and the commitment to helping clients receive thoughtful and comprehensive eating disorder care.
I work from a weight-inclusive, anti-diet, and person-centered lens while integrating psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT/EFIT), CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and narrative therapy. My goal is to support clients in developing a more compassionate relationship with themselves while building emotional insight, regulation, and resilience.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master of Arts in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy from Wilfrid Laurier University. Over the past several years, I have supported individuals navigating eating disorders, body image concerns, trauma, addictions, emotional regulation difficulties, identity development, and life transitions through community mental health, rehabilitation support, and psychotherapy settings.
