Reaching out for help and trusting another person with your story can be an incredibly daunting and scary thing, but I recognize that it is also a brave and powerful act. I know how uncomfortable it can be to share your thoughts and feelings with another person and to trust them with your vulnerability.
My therapeutic style is person-centered and focuses on getting to know each client as a person, in addition to what brought them into therapy. I aim to help clients cultivate self-compassion and resilience, encouraging them to honour their progress, however small, while also empowering them to take active steps toward their personal goals. I value a collaborative approach and am always open to questions or feedback.
I focus on building trust and connection with each person. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the most important foundation for safety and vulnerability, and I pay special attention to creating an empathetic and compassionate space so that clients feel comfortable being their most authentic selves. I know how much courage it takes to open up, and I strive to honour that courage every day.

My own personal experiences with disordered eating and anxiety have given me firsthand knowledge about how difficult it can be to feel trapped by mental health challenges. It’s important to me that my clients feel seen and heard, and that they can trust that I understand the complexity of their experiences. Having been in therapy for many years, I deeply understand the value of having a compassionate and safe space to explore challenges, heal, and grow. I am so grateful for the impact that therapy has had on my life, and I bring that awareness into each session, believing completely in the transformative power of the therapeutic process.
I am so excited to work with eating disorders at The Balanced Practice because I believe in the work that they do each and every day for their clients. I have seen the impact that eating disorders can have on a person’s life, and I want to be able to help them along their recovery journey.
